Metamorphosis Engineering School for EEE students @ Singapore Polytechnic
Description
Brief: Design a sustainable, innovative, and nurturing engineering school, using a structural steel system with composite roofs floors and roofs, in consideration of design compliance regulations.
Design Intent: The site is to become a ‘cocoon to emergence’ for interdependent and identity-forming learning.
Duration
Apr 2025 - Feb 2026
Key Contributions
Directed a team of five to design an astute and comprehensive site analysis presentation with high graphical clarity for a proposed engineering school development, achieving an A+ grade.
Delivered a high-quality 7 A0 presentation board, 11 design compliance drawings, and a physical model within a tight deadline of one week each, demonstrating high efficiency in drafting, modelling, and building performance analysis (shadow range, wind, and daylight hours).
Integrated sustainability to create a super low energy building through interconnected roof gardens, 95 solar panels that generate 89 times more energy than the building’s annual cooling loads, and recycled materials via cross-laminated stepped seating platforms and hempcrete roof garden pavements.
Demonstrated Skills
Creative problem solving
Team leadership
Revit modelling and building performance analysis (shadow studies)
